Hello, everyone. Here's a little background on what you can expect if you haven't yet read my in-depth look at Carolina linebacker Jon Beason in Sunday's Charlotte Observer. The picture here, by the way, is one I snapped of our photographer David Foster shooting pictures of Beason for this story.
Check out the way Beason's left eyebrow arches. "Just like 'The Rock,'" Beason said, referring to the former college football player turned movie star. Beason said his eyebrow arches like that naturally when he adopts certain expressions. He actually tried to push it back down for one of these photos, to no avail.
In any case, in this magazine-length story that takes up more than a full page of The Observer (UPDATE: it is now POSTED HERE) you will find these and other nuggets:
** How "Beavis and Butt-head" were part of one of one of the greatest days of Beason's life.
** How Beason tried to gently sabotage his pre-draft workout with New England coach Bill Belichick because he didn't want to play for the Patriots.
** Who Beason considers the greatest overachiever in his family (hint: it's not him).
Enjoy the story, and enjoy this beautiful weekend. Don't forget to check back on "Scott Says" frequently on Sunday during and after the game, when I will be blogging LIVE from the Panthers-Saints game.
