An untrue Panther rumor

It's time to try and stamp out a persistent Carolina Panther rumor once and for all. I don't know why, but I keep getting calls and e-mails from people wondering if Jake Delhomme is married to a) someone in Jerry Richardson's family or b) someone in John Fox's family and that is why he keeps his starting job.

No and no. I don't know how this one ever got started, but it certainly has a life of its own. I got another call at the office from a fan just today about it as well as a couple of e-mails.

Delhomme is married to a Louisiana girl that he knew growing up. Her name is Keri. She's a very nice lady. Her family name is Melancon. She has nothing to do with any of the power structure in place at Carolina.

Now I understand why people keep trying to figure out why Jake Delhomme hasn't been benched yet. And I get why they keep asking me to some extent -- I called for Delhomme's benching, after all, in this recent column.

But there's no nepotism going on here. John Fox simply thinks Delhomme gives his team the best chance to win. It's a football decision, nothing more.

I would like to start another rumor if I may-Delhomme keeps his starting job because Matt Moore is mediocre at best and AJ Feeley is horrendous. My other rumor is that because the organization was dumb enough to tag Peppers (who clearly doesn't care about being here) that they can't sign someone to provide Jake with adequate competion to make him actually earn his job. Oh also because they are too scared to draft a QB in the draft. Just a rumor, discuss amongst yourselves.

What else would you expect from a UNC product??? If they don't care, they don't play. Doesn't matter what you pay them.

anyone who helped spread or believed this rumor is seriuosly out of touch with reality. the team is in disarray from the front office to the starters to the practice squad. try and spin it however you want but the fact is we do not have the right people in the right positions. the lack luster performances, zero motivation, and piss poor O/D schemes are a result of having a mis-managed organization.

Two more rumors going around -

1. Scott Fowler thinks he is funny
2. Scott Fowler is NOT funny

According to my sources, both of these rumors are in fact true.

Jeff Garcia was released by the Eagles...why aren't we looking at him??? Let's put some pressure on Delhomme so he works to get his starting role....I still think Garcia has him beat!

Unfortunately, Delhomme is our best QB and give us our best chances.

You guys that are posting are either Jake himself or someone he paid to do it. Putting the blame on Peppers for working! Wow that great, shows great class from you. I haven't seen mediocre from Matt Moore when he steps in games all I've seen him do is complete passes over 20 yards which is a lot more than I've seen from Jake the Fake.

How about the rumor that Scott Fowler is gay? Serioulsy, I have heard this more than the Jake rumor. The best way to squash a rumor is let it go. But nooooooo Scott has to write this stupid article.

This rumor/joke is one of the oldest in the book. Nobody is spreading this rumor. This is just Scott's lame attempt to be funny.

The total truth is that once Fox decides on a QB, he won't switch until he's absolutely forced to. Of course, Fox is that way about everything - he will keep trotting out the same old tired schemes, which oppositions have figured out long ago, until it's way too late. It doesn't matter which QB they put out there. As long as Fox is running this show, they're yesterday's news. Richardson should be busy looking for the next Mike Tomlin.

You people saying this isnt a rumor obviously dont read the posts here much. I have read it about 100 times & posted that it isnt true to the dummies that said it about 10 times. I'm glad you wrote this article maybe dummies will stop saying it now.

Yawn...who care's about who he is with...all we care about is his game which sucks by the way!!

Einstein was right when he said there was a limit to genius, but no limit to stupidity.

But it is the best way to keep a job if you underqualify to be in your position. You need to get the owner approved and it is easier with their daughters.

Great post! I?m just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well - resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case. chinese new year 2012 mid autumn festival 2011 hungry ghost festival 2011 Sbobet Casino Indonesia holiday holiday forum new year 2012
