The Panthers haven't looked better than this in a long, long time -- they just scored again and are creaming the New York Giants, 41-9, midway through the fourth quarter.
Jonathan Stewart just broke through for an unbelievable 52-yard run in which he shed several tackles before being hauled down at the 1. Brad Hoover then knocked it in, as Carolina took a 41-9 lead with 9:41 left in the fourth quarter.
Stewart is flirting with the 200-yard mark for this game and the 1,000-yard mark for this season.
A week after being the NFC Offensive Player of the Week against Minnesota, Stewart looks like gold once again (DeAngelo Williams is once again out due to injury). He may set the single-game Panthers record today as well -- the previous high was 186 for DeAngelo Williams, and Stewart by unofficial count is already into the 190s.

Stewart has 194 yards now and 996 on the season. Having two 1000 yard rushers on the same team? We're incredibly lucky to have two running backs of this caliber.
If we had a passing game all year, we'd have at least 10 wins...
are we convinced yet that both fox and Delhomme need to go. Moore has shown he is the future of the panthers, thus Delhomme needs to go, and Fox needs to go for not replacing Delhomme in week 4 or 5. then we would be on our way to the playoffs!
Stewey got the 2-0-0 then some...great game by him today..
Offense and Defense played an awesome game..
Hate Smitty broke his arm though <:-(
Has the broken arm been confirmed?
Great game Panther's. Good Job Matt Moore.
Good game, Carolina! Would it have killed the announcers to actually congratulate the Panthers or mention what a great time they played??? It was "poor Giants this and poor Giants that" the whole time. How about a little excitement and love for Carolina, guys??
Wow what a nice QB rating today Moore...Great game Panthers...
I saw the passion in them last week against the Vikings....Something told me that was still gonna be there today...
Should have given them more than a six point spread lol...
Happy Dance!!
Did Jake have a 139 % QB rating this year...
Just asking not trying to be a smart A@@...
Does anyone actually know and if so, do you remember what game it was?
Not a Jake hater, he may not be the Panther future, but as a true Carolina fan, I cant forget the places he has taken this team so after the surgery and all I was just asking a question is all!
While I think Moore playing well does make Fox look silly for not starting him sooner, I think this win might make the organization more convinced to keep Fox rather than let him go. After all, I have to say, the team as a whole has played inspired football the past two weeks again teams with winning records. You have to give Fox some credit for keeping his team in it.
just a worthless win that does nothing but guarantee another year of Fux and Joke...
these last two wins look great, and i'm proud of the way the Panthers played - but it does nothing for the team next year...
Jenn...no, Jake never had a game this year with a rating that high. His best was against Atlanta, when he had a 115.8 against ATL in week 10. In that one, 15 of 24 for 195 yards - 2 TDs, no INTs. But, that was rare...outside of that, he never broke 100 and ended up the year with a 59 rating.
It's entirely possible Smitty's arm is only a major contusion (bruise). While it did appear to flop about after the hit, the muscles could have just been in shock from a big hit.
Imagine, if broken, actually coming back out on the sideline w/ an unset broken arm in a sling? Only Superman could do that 9or score after the arm-breaking hit)!!!
I hate when I get finger happy and the post goes before I finish lol...
ty Curtis....much love to you for answering....
I thought he had a couple games at 100, couldnt remember who...
As for Smitty just having a bruise....did someone actually confirm it was indeed a break?
I agree he sure was smiling over there on the sidelines, when they panned to him with it in a sling, but hey that could have been the drugs talking lol....
My pleasure Jennifer...and while we are on the subject of stats, here's another nugget for you:
Jake's second best game of the year - a 94.3 rating against Arizona in week 8. To achieve that "second best game of the year"? Well, he went 7 of 14 for 90 yards, 1 TD, no INTs. In other words, it was the prototype handcuff game where you have your QB do as little as possible to minimize his mistakes.
Compared to a game like today, where Moore throws 3 TDs and lo and behold - our RB rips off the best rushing performance in franchise history. We come out in the second half going for the kill (Moore throws it and ends up with another TD pass).
That is how it SHOULD be done, not nursing your QBs woes, IMHO.
Yeah I can only sigh when I think back to what may have been..
But thats all and done ...
Was just nice watching them smile, and enjoying playing again...Even when pride was all they have to play for these last few games...
To beat the Vikes and the Giants on the road the way they did....le-sigh...
