Panthers in BLACK, stadium in WHITE Saturday

The Panthers will wear black jerseys Saturday night against Arizona. Jackie Miles, the team's equipment manager since their inception, notes its the first time Carolina has ever worn black for a playoff game.

Carolina generally wears white on the road. Its previous two home playoff games were against the Dallas Cowboys, and then the Panthers purposely wore white so as to make the Cowboys wear their "unlucky" blue jerseys. (It worked both times).

Bank of America Stadium will be a rolling sea of white, however, as a white Growl Towel about the size of a golf towel will be given away to everyone who comes through the turnstile. "Those towels really seem to show up better at night," said Phil Youtsey, the Panthers' ticket guru.

The Panthers are gently encouraging fans to wear black to match the team's jerseys and to contrast with the Growl Towels a bit better.

Nevelle I have seen alot of confident Cards fans all over the boards. Heck you won one f'n game time to relax and return to rightful place. At home during the Playoffs. Black is for badasses and the towels are to wave after each and every great play the Panthers make Sat night. It is much better than the bags your fans usually wear.

last1, you obviously have the Cardinal fans confused with the Aint's fans. You should know better...the Panther's play 'em twice each season. The Cards fans are confident. The Panther fans are confident. That's nothing to be surprised at!!! We've now won 10 games this season, and our place, much like the Panthers, is a Division Champ. Say what you will about the NFCW, the first step to the 'Bowl is to win your division. Our place? Right now, same as the Panthers. We're playing in the Divisional Round in CLT. More will be revealed on Sat night...I'll be wearing RED at BofA on Saturday!!!!

Scott did they happen to mention the color of the helmet? Could it be black as well...i know they couldnt before b/c of league rules about uni's in the regular season...but what about now?

Brandon said...

Why will they not wear black pants with black jersey's? That would look really sharp and intimidating. Both the Saints and Ravens do it and it looks awesome!

Demetrios said...

Some of you might remember the All BLACK Endzones for the Dallas Cowboys playoff game. Any chance of that being the case this Saturday? That would be awesome. Last time they did it because the endzones were painted in for the Tire Bowl Game so they just went all Black with the Carolina logos.

Please bring back the Black endzones it looks sweet at night and with the nice green grass we have. Hey Scott! Talk to your people at B of A!

HOW ABOUT A PANTHER LOGO AT CENTER FIELD???

How about a Panther logo at center field??????

LETS GO BIG RED said...

WOW you guys are so easily amused. Who cares where they put the black or what helmets they wear or where they put the ugly logo. I say they paint it all red and be done with it. GO CARDS

PanthersPSLsince96 said...

Okay so you've got a 37 year old QB (washed-up) who's up on his luck this season, then you have 2 good wideouts, a washed up RB, and on defense just 2 good Defensive backs...WHAT ELSE?!?! That isn't goood enough to carry you guys to the Superbowl, yet alone to the NFC Championship...Be glad you crept by ATL and enjoy that victory while you still can!!! AZ's road to the Superbowl comes to a screeching hault in Charlotte...GO PANTHERS!!!

Daniel said...

"I say they paint it all red and be done with it."

Yeah, that's what the Panthers defense does...only the red is the carnage left over!!

Go Panthers!!

The Cards will come out of the tunnel in their white jerseys. The Cats will immediately smack them in the beak & turn those jerseys blood red by no later than the middle of the 1st quarter!

REDBIRDRAGE said...

....Gee, maybe Jake and the boys can get a matching setof pumps to be dress like the bi#@hes that you are....

Cards will have salt on their shoes, desired taste of cats......

Tate said...

I think you guys are getting too bogged down with colors and effects. The only thing that matters is that the Panthers play well. Contrary to popular belief, the jersey colors don't really matter. The only thing that will matter is who wants the win more. The Panthers have an early bragging right, because we beat the Cards earlier in Charlotte. The fact that this is a night game will surely hype the fans and players, but the black endzones and black jerseys just look cool, they make absolutely no difference in the winner. Good luck Panthers, go to Super Bowl 43 in Tampa.

Matt said...

Demetrios, regarding the black end zones - if I recall correctly, the reason the Panthers painted the end zones black for that particular game was because it was the only playoff game (wild card weekend) being played at BoA stadium that season - something about the black paint damages the turf, but with it being the final game of the year there, it didn't matter.

If the Giants lose at home to Philly this weekend - and they just might - the Panthers get to host the NFC championship game. THEN it would be time to paint the end zones black. :)

As for the NFL logo at midfield, it's there because that's what Jerry Richardson wants to see there.

m said...

They will be black and Blue after the game

Aaron said...

Matt, that endzone paint logic doesn't make a lot of sense, since the Panthers were a 4th-and-26 away from hosting Green Bay in the NFC Championship game the last time we beat the Cowboys at home in the playoffs.

Mike Glazier said...

Nevelle, your in fact a moron. Arizona plays in the weakest division in football and you shouldnt have even made the playoffs with the way ya'll played the last 2 weeks of the season. Your team would have finished in 3rd place in the NFC South. Enjoy wearing your red in the stadium sat night because you wont be wearing it again until next september. Well I guess you could wear it for valentines day. Thanks for contributing your many to a real football city. By the way, I dont hide behind screen names, my tailgating spot is right across from uptown cabaret at the corner of morehead and tryon so feel free to walk by and get yo a** booed down the street

getusomered said...

Well first of all, Mr. Glazier, your grammatical errors are outstanding. It sounds like you type as well as the Panthers are going to play this Saturday.
I WILL be there at your lame tailgate spot BEFORE the game as well as AFTER the game to rub it in that your beloved, pathetic panthers lost.
Believe me, I will be there, WEARING RED. Tell your punk friends to be ready.

Tim Mora said...

I don't care what you say! When you start correcting one's grammar on a blog, it's done. What's that??? Grammar?!?... Don't talk about grammar??? You kidding me?!? Grammar??? I just hope I spelled everything correctly!

Mike Glazier said...

Hey getusomered why dont u make sure to stop on by our tailgating spot. You talk about grammatical errors, you better make sure your team is worried about tackling and defensive errors. We dont mind beating the s*** out ya'll 2 times this year. Look on the brightside, you will have another 9 more years to get over before you make the playoffs again. All my "punk friends" will be there so feel free to come congratulate us. Feel free to stop by any time and you better pack a lunch when you come.

ahmed said...

how about this, no jersey, or color will affect the way any of those teams play. Arizona won that game because the fans were pumped up for their first home playoff game since what the great depression right? well we are in the situation now right. if i remember correctly ari. won and then got smash by the people with sperm on the side of their helment look for a repeat this sat.

Cats maul the cards 70-10 and i dare you to say something.

hey glazier you and your kitty cats suk.your grammer gives real meaning to the phrase when you think of southern you think of stupid.a real man would be in the caberet after the came vs tail gaiting w a bunch of guys.who cares what color uniforms you wear and what color your end zone is.the patrioys just win super bowls-remember 2003.the pats are watching from home this year but not a bad year w/a back up qb.how did your back up do last year-mr.glove david carr.carr would light up your below average secondary for 350 yds.imagine what warner is going to do.panters 2009 playoff record 1 and done.and you getsomered how long has it been for u to be in playoffs you know what we did 2 you a few weeks ago

Mike Glazier said...

I wish all you queers would quit hiding behind screen names and put your real name on here. Are you really talkin about the Pats this year? What time do ya'll play this weekend? By the way jacka**, Vinny Testaverde was our qback for the most part until Matt Moore came in and finished the year. Do your research before you run your mouth little guy. I will be in the strip club after the game just in time to get a lap dance in the vip room from your wife (a.k.a my weekend girlfriend)

And before you talk about somebody's grammar you might want to check yours first biatch

Tim Mora said...

AGAIN!!! To the grammar police...yes you patsyfan

I don't care what you say! When you start correcting one's grammar on a football blog, it's done.
What's that??? Grammar?!?... Don't talk about grammar??? You kidding me?!? Grammar??? I just hope I spelled everything correctly!

#1PatsFan said...

Mora-good one.can you be a little more original

#1PatsFan said...

Glazier-if that's ur real name I bet your 140lbs soaking wet but you do sound tough-not.u bragging about 44 yr old color blind Vinny.he sukd w the jets sukd w/ the browns and sukd when he was w/the pussy cats.i think your the queer-sitting outside a strip club w/your punk friends. If half the people show up at your tailgate spot that u called out- you and your little boyfriends would run and hide-good luck kitty cats(remember 1 and out) and to all the wine and cheese fans at the game quite sitting on your hands like you've done for years and try not to embarrass the Queen city-how appropriate Glazier ur queer and live in a queen city

Tim Mora said...

Yes patsy, as soon as you quit policing grammar. This isn't English class and the last time I checked, Belichick had a 1pm tee-time...shouldn't you be joining him??? No instead, you come onto a blog about the Panthers & Cards to correct grammar and demean people from the south. You sir are a classless idiot with nothing better to do because YOUR TEAM IS NOT PLAYING!!! Better luck next year...

Mike Glazier said...

Okay #1patsfan, why dont u show up at the tailgating spot and see how much of this 140lb soakin wet a** you can beat. Who was braggin about Vinny? I was just simply stating that your ignorance is comical in thinking that you know who are qback was last year. The only kitty kat reference that will be the nickname I give your wife on saturday night. I think you can figure out what that mean.

#1PatsFan said...

hey mora-coach is not golfing,he's out video taping the practices of all the remaining teams in case we play them next year.like they say if your not cheating your not trying.I work from the home so I have time to do this.are you a ex wachovia out of work because your ex ceo is a crook

#1PatsFan said...

I'll be out gettin some saturday night(if you no what i mean you queer)and not the way you and your boy toys do it.This one's for you Mora-shouldn't mike the queer said our team instead of are

Mike Glazier said...

Okay while were correcting people.....hey mora, shouldnt #1patsfan said "if you know what I mean" instead of no what I mean.

#1PatsFan said...

u got me on that one but i do know how to say and spell SUPER BOWL CHAMPS.do you?that's right 32-29 remember that score

Mike Glazier said...

The only reason you are bringing that game up is because that year is synonymous with when you finally hit puberty.

How bout lets worry about now. Dont talk s*** when your boys arent even in the playoffs.

#1PatsFan said...

i can talk s*** because we own your kitty cats and have a ring to prove it.yes we our-(Ha ha)are at home this year but i would rather have multiple rings and make the playoffs darn near every year than make once in awhile and lose-you couldn't even beat seattle a few years ago to make it to the dance. So until you can make the playoffs on regular basis and win the big one ya'll will always be our biatch.meow

Mike Glazier said...

I will respond again when I start seeing a name come across instead of a screen name.

I dont fall for things like this.

#1PatsFan said...

well that i won't do in case you haven't heard they have internet and phone books that crazy people can get numbers and addresses.not that you fear me but i do have a wife(thats right you know her from the caberet)and family and i don't need some homo tracking me down.if you need a name-as bruce willis said in die hard you can call me roy rogers....... yippie kay yay mother f*****

#1PatsFan said...

so sad-reading the observer today i see that the wine & cheese fans of the kitty cats have never completly filled b of a.there's a shocker.you call yourself a football town.it could be 0 in foxboro and we would fill the place.maybe the top kitty cat j.richardson will pull a george shinn and move the team after the cards beat them then u can use those growl towels to wipe the tears away

Mike Glazier said...

#1pats fan....Sorry i havent been back on here, I've been busy planning out my tailgate for the playoff game. Im sure you've been doing that too this week...oh nevermind, pats didnt make it. I've decided that all communication from here on out needs to be face to face so be sure to show up on saturday but dont worry you wont be there for long. Oh and by the way, hows your wife and my 2 kids.

Kurt's boys said...

Alright, I have read all of this Glazier fellow I can stand.

I can only say that while we might not have made the playoffs in the NFC south, we did make it and how much worse will it be to be a panther fan when you lose to someone that shouldn't be there.

Face the facts Glazier, your Defense, especially your secondary is very weak. Kurt is gonna light you up and remember, Boldin and Fitzgerald can HOUSE Lucas in their best Sunday Shoes....get that...House them, in loafers...

#1PatsFan said...

I thought i ran u off yesterday and ur running scared. While your at it you better make plans with your boyfriends for next weekend when the kitty cats are home for the season.as for your 2 kids my 2 boys are 180lb & 190lb they can't be from you-you scrawny punk and my daughter is much to pretty.I'll send my 18yr old down and show you how we take care of biz the old boston way.yippie kay yay signed Roy Rogers

#1PatsFan said...

couln't of said it better myself Kurt even though i'm not a cards fan i do want them to beat the kitty cats-maybe steven smith can punch gamble this time and it will be good for the team

Mike Glazier said...

Well Kurt's boys, you wanna talk about defense. Your teams defense couldnt stop Steve Beurlein, Wesley Walls, and Tim Biakabatuka. Boldin's little pansy a** has missed two straight practices and more than likely isn't playing. I guess thats what happens when you showboat your way into the endzone. Of course for a team that makes the playoffs about the same amount of times the Vatican changes Popes, that behavior is understandable. If you've read all you can stand from me, well then your solution is simple....STOP READING IT DUMBA**. Roll that up in your pipe and smoke chimichanga.

Kurt's boys said...

Well, in 1950, when we were in St.Louis....

Timmy B, Stevie B, are you kidding. Are you going to bring up Rae Carruth next?

I hate to tell you, but we aren't playing against Exercise Equipment selling Steve Buerlein....but you are right, he would be tougher than Mr. Bogangles and his mini smurf, Mike Tyson

House Ken Lucas.....House him...Boldin or no Boldin...However, I will ask Kurt if he will come back this summer and do some sort of offensive clinic for the new coach, instead of run right, run left

Mike Glazier said...

#1 Pats fan, thats funny how you call me scrawny, you must have a webcam. Send your son along with Paul Revere and the entire Patriots offensive line if you want, and bring your Bob Barker a** out there too.

Have fun watching us in the Super Bowl this year.

#1PatsFan said...

mikey-that shows how bad your team is when you have to back what 7-8yrs and name players

#1PatsFan said...

my bob barker a** will throw you around like bob barker did to adam sandler in happy gilmore and then i'll wipe you up with your growl towel

Mike Glazier said...

That run right, run left worked pretty good considering we led the NFL in rushing touchdowns for a team and individually. Are you really going to keep blowing a man that graduated with Moses. The only time the Cardinals have even been mentioned in the spotlight is when Rod Tidwell caught a touchdown in the endzone at the end of Jerry Maguire.

Mike Glazier said...

No you see #1 patsfan, I was making an analogy as to why the cardinals defense is terrible. Its funny how somebody who such a patriots fan would be involved in this conversation. Are you living vicariously through the cardinals and panthers so it feels like your in the playoffs.

The only thing your can get from me is warm glass of shut the h*** up.

#1PatsFan said...

when i show up at your tailgate that's what you'll do run right run left and run all the way home wee wee wee wee

Kurt's boys said...

Last I checked, Moses was a pretty successful guy.

You should lead the league in rushing...that is all you do.

You also lead the league in Knockout punches thrown by a WR under 6' feet tall, landed on a terrible, overpaided Corner that will be HOUSED this weekend.

#1PatsFan said...

their defense can't be that bad they pretty much shut the dirty birds down something the kitty cats couldn't do this year.face it your team is over rated.hey lets chant like the duke fans ready.over rated, over rated, over rated

Kurt's boys said...

Black is the color of mourning, correct?

Glazier, you said you tailgate by the cabaret, correct.

is that because you put on a whig, do the "tuck and tape" and earn some extra cash pleasing the men folks?

Mike Glazier said...

Hey Kurts Boy's check the stats because that guy under 6ft, he also leads the nfl in yards per game and played only 14 games. Finished right behind your boy fitzgerald in yards and only played 14 games.

Well then why dont come on and pretend to be ken lucas, then you will lead mecklenburg county in most times getting knocked out by someone under 6ft not in the NFL

Mike Glazier said...

Once again, not very knowledgeable #1patsfan. We shut them down when we played them in carolina. yea they got us in atlanta, but we won the division and a bye unlike the pats.

Mike Glazier said...

Kurts boys, the only tuckin I will be doing is your head under my crotch after bootstomp those cardinals.

#1PatsFan said...

kurt-can't resist-speaking of tape and tuck-have u seen warner's wife she can start for the kitty cats secondary probably can take a punch better than lucas

Kurt's boys said...

Should be a great game in a quiet atmosphere after the first 3 series.

I have heard Bank of America is one of the quietest places in the league.

We would come out and stomp your logo, but you are too ashamed to have one on the field at the 50. Is the NFL logo there to remind you that despite your boring brand of football, that you are in fact in the "league"

#1PatsFan said...

there's the proof queer boy mikey-you want to put kurts head in your crotch-i knew it-your favorite team should be the packers-get it

Mike Glazier said...

Quiet atmosphere, are you kidding me. Its funny how no one ever talks about the cardinals up until ya'll 2 sperm burping faggots got on there. So you play in the nfc west and get 6 wins out of that division, but you go 3 and 7 the rest of the way. Thats overrated. Read the papers, watch the news, everyone says the same thing.

#1PatsFan said...

it's your town and you got a pat's and cards fan talking smack all the kitty cats must be home eating their cheese a drinking the wine.

#1PatsFan said...

what's a matter mikey kitty cat got ur tongue or do you save that for your boyfriends.the cards won their division what did you do a few years ago when you went to the aint;s and needed a win-you choked.just like you will on saturday.remember the cats will be one and done-unlike you when your with your boyfriends i bet you say thank you may i have another

#1PatsFan said...

well mikey i had enough for the day going to bean town tavern in matthews to get a few beers and talk with some real fans(pats) come on by.i'm sure yoy'll be easy to spot with your feminine walk

#1patsfan said...

rise & shine all you wine and cheesers especially u mikeyI'm calling today the eve of destruction.i heard the weather report for destruction day-RAIN-we all know what that means 25-30,000 kitty cats staying at home.I'm sure mikey and his queer friends will be out sloshing in the rain w/ their pink umbrellas singing danny kaye's singing in the rain.final score cards 24-kitty cats 6

Kurt's boys said...

Glazier you are one in a million. I am thinking you probably ride a short bus to school and one of your legs is shorter than the other.

It is great that you are such a panthers fan, probably have been since 2003. You cannot honestly think that Fox will get you over the edge and that your Defense can stop our passing game.

You better hope it rains hard, of course, we will just stack the box. Keep in mind, Dockett is known for putting QBs out. Tell McCown to warm up his hand off arm

#1patsfan said...

kurt you may be on to something-he's not responding.what time do they let them go from the center.i can just picture little mikey getting off that bus with his panthers book bag and his pink # 89 steven smith jersey
