NFC, AFC championship game winners will be....

As the NFL world awaits what should be a great Sunday, I've got a prediction:

No Harbaughs in the Super Bowl.

While the "Superbaugh" remains a possibility, I think New England and the New York Giants will ultimately each beat a brother and play an encore of their stunning Super Bowl from four years ago, when the Giants dashed New England's dreams of a 19-0 season with a 17-14 upset victory.

Remember that one? The Patriots lost when Eli Manning hit Plaxico Burress with 35 seconds left. The Giants scored 14 of their 17 points in the fourth quarter to win.

This Giants team, to me, looks just as good as that one was. New York has gotten hot at just the right time, much like the Green Bay Packers did a year ago. That Packers team was seeded No.6 and this Giants team No.4, which means the Giants will be playing their third game in three weeks in these playoffs. But they have such an impressive string of victories and are playing so well I think they can go into San Francisco Sunday and upset the favored 49ers and rookie head coach Jim Harbaugh, 23-17.

As for New England-Baltimore, if it were on a neutral field I might well pick the Ravens. Given that this one is played in New England, however, where Tom Brady is nearly invincible, I think the Patriots will win over John Harbaugh and his Ravens, 31-20.

Nope, both the Giants and Pats blow it. 49ers/Ravens and 2/3rds of the Country turns it off at the half.

I think you underestimate the effects of winning a huge game against the Packers then flying to NY then flying across country to CA. 49'ers win 24-13

I have SF upsetting Brady's Bunch in the Super Bowl. Just a gut feeling - i would rather see the Giants win it all. I just have this feeling Alex Smith is going to show everyone why he was so highly rated coming out of Utah. Sure - took him long enough - but he has something he has never had before in the NFL and that is confidence.

49er's and Ravens will win. Eli Manning will have a bad game after he gets sacked a few times, and the same with Brady and the Pats. Too much "D" in both of these games. Remember this NY team lost TWICE to the sorry Redskins, and they will be playing on the West coast.

No way Scott....this Pats teams has little defense....the Ravens will make it a quiet day...

I see Ravens vs Giants

Are the Panthers out of the Playoffs already?

Giants are a joke just like the Jets! They will get hammered by the 49'ers.

Giants and Ravens win, leading to a Super Bowl snoozefest. Defense wins titles.

Go ahead Scott, you've made 'so many' wrong predictions this past year... it really doesn't matter.

Have a nice day.

I thought the Saints would beat the 49ers too, didn't happen. I think the 49ers will beat the Giants and play New England in the Super Bowl. FWIW, I'll be rooting for San Fran and Baltimore, but I just can't see how the Ravens will beat the Pats in Foxboro.

How could you bet against New England? I mean, God plays QB for the Broncos and NE hammered them!

(Sarcasm off)

I think Frisco and New England will win. I hate NYC and all its sports teams bad enough that if the Giants win, I will pull like crazy for the AFC winner and will mainly watch the Super Bowl for the commercials.

I agree. I think Pats vs Giants again also. Let's hope that the outcome is the same, if that happens.

Such deep insights you can only get from a quality columnist like Scott. Did you work all week on your analysis? Here are some facts:

Patriot defense is poor, but good enough to stop Baltimore. NE offense, not just Brady, is having great season. NE wins by double digits.

SF has something GB did not......a defense. Both offenses will make plays but SF has better team....they win by 5.

Some parasitic maggot pervs wasting good oxygen make a strong case for bullying capital punishment and eugenics. Otherwise Eli Manning has def come into his own not playing in Peyton's shadow whose neck is broken in 100 places by intent killer union hits over the past decade forced into early retirement. Newt was babied with light soft pus tackling and given the record. Nobody will beat Brady though. Nice admission of guilt by the Pussycat TE puts all doubt to rest in his own words. GUILTY as charged.

According to VP Biden, it will be the S.F. Giants playing in the Super Bowl.

Defense! Candlestick Park! Niners win!

In Candlestick when it rains!........better bring your masks and fins.

Pats will beat the Crows. A(I hate both teams, so it makes no difference to me; just sayin.
Eli-mae Manning will not lead the G-boys to a win in Candle Stick.
