LeBron, D-Wade, Bosh together in Miami?

One of the most intriguing rumors so far for the "NBA-free-agent-class-of-a-generation" has surfaced in Miami, where a source close to Dwyane Wade's camp says that it's conceivable that Wade, LeBron and Chris Bosh will all end up on the same Miami Heat team this summer.

My colleague and friend Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported this, writing in part "The Miami Heat just might win a triple crown."

Can you imagine what this would do to the NBA -- and to the Bobcats? Talk about an unfair advantage. It is to the best interest of the Bobccats and, to a much greater extent, the NBA that this sort of "super-team" not get created. In 29 other NBA cities besides Miami, it would make people mad (although it's totally within the rules, just like a college football team getting the top 3 recruits in the country one year).

I don't ultimately see it happening -- I think that it'd be difficult to work out the money among 3 players who all would believe they deserve a maximum contract. And I'd rather not see it happen -- the NBA is more fun when the talent is spread out and the "8-10 teams can win the title" premise is actually viable.

Still, it's quite a thought to imagine. The NBA free agency period starts Thursday at 12:01 a.m., although binding contracts cannot be signed until July 8th. I'll be addressing this topic in more depth later this week in a column. In the meantime, if you have any thoughts about what a LeBron-Wade-Bosh trio would do in Miami and do to the league, please leave a comment below.

it would suck for the bobcats and the other teams but its not against the rules so OH WELL!

Only reason it's a bad idea is because they aren't coming to Charlotte. I think it would be cool to see this kind of traveling road show. The NBA needs something to get people in the seats. Try it, see what happens.

The NBA should cut about 10 teams. That would narrow the talent gap.

Hey if those ego's can find a way to get along and still remian under the cap, more power to them. These are the types of changes our Bobcats need to be making. Yea, so they are most likely overstepping their reach, but who cares? It gets free ink, and makes the rest of the league stop to think.

First off, it would be quite an impressive show to watch them all play together, assuming it worked and the cheap players completing the roster could contribute. Second, I don't get the "unfair" crticism. How is this that far off from the old Jordan, Pippen, Rodman days, the Lakers' Showtime or even the current Celtics? Lastly, Since when does the NBA have 8-10 teams vying for a title? Over the last three decades, five teams have dominated (LA, Boston, Chi, Det, SA).

Well, if you live in Mami, it would be great. Otherwise, not so much.

I actually don't think the egos would get in the way. They may all want a max contract, but I don't think anyone, including the 3 of them, would question that the pecking order would be 1) LeBron, 2) Wade, 3) Bosh. It would actually be very similar to Boston when Garnett & Allen were broght in. Pierce knew Garnett was top dog, and Allen didn't mind being the 3rd guy. It would work the same with this scenario.

I may be dreaming, bordering on hallucinating, but I'm still holding on to my dream that Bosh will somehow wind up being a Bobcat.

anybody who says something negative about the megapowers joining forces is a hater. i love the nba, and i would hate for those three to play together for anybody other than miami. chicago had thier run, its over! if this happens which is seeming more and more like it will.......then..... it will be the heats turn. they cant play forever, most likeley the heat will probably only get three years service out of them. so bow down to the heat because you wont be able to beat us so you might as well join us, like LBJ and CBosh will! ROTFLMGDAOMF's HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA

I think that those 3 players are going to wind up together because bosh is not so stupid to go to charlotte and lebron for going to new jersey or new york so basically is going to happen the same thing with boston but I think that they are not going to win that they are getting eliminated against a team like boston or orlando or lakers in the finals
