The Fabulous Hudson Hornet

The "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" is among the cars on display at "Glory Road" in the NASCAR hall of fame, which opened today in Charlotte.

I took the picture above on a tour through the NASCAR hall of fame. It's not a very good picture, but it's a great car. There are a lot of snapshot-worthy moments in the hall, and as I wrote in my review of the place last week, it will absolutely dazzle you (at least the first time). I'm sure it's doing exactly that today to the hundreds of people passing through the doors.

The Hudson Hornet gained a new legion of followers in the 2006 animated movie "Cars," in which Paul Newman voices the character of "Doc Hudson," who turns out to be the Hudson Hornet himself.

What a joke! Paid $19.95 and the another frickin $5.00 for the simulator. Almost had to smack the jerk running the simulator for making a smartass comment about my shirt.

I was expecting more.

It was more than the simulator. Nice place but they have some work to do. Not all exhibits work.

Typical NASCAR!!! They stick their history on the top floor near the attic, which is where all that stuff will end up one day, just like the tracks and the small towns and small town people they have put away in a box. Pull us out for reminders. Hey!!! Did anyone see all the vlounteers that showed up at the old Wilkesboro track this weekend to start the rennovations???

Truthfully Charlotte needs the NASCAR museum to save the joint from the socialist liberals who have taken over and destroyed it from the inside in the name of political correctness.

Charlotte needed this to get back to its conservative roots to equalize the great choatic revolution of total anarchy and mass destruction of its norms and values.

The lib cockroaches run and hide. Maybe the city can start a nationwide revolution back to normality and sanity. Thats what you call leadership.

Excellent post, I didn't know but the NASCAR is one of the most viewed professional sports in terms of television ratings in the United States, so this car is a treasure! Thanks for sharing this and keep posting this old pictures. 23jj
