"Black man considered one of the greatest, LOST!!!". wow...i can't believe someone actually wrote an article asking if the man "Choked"?? Who does that? He's human, and has lost before in the past. So why is there an article about him losing now? you can't win em all. He'll win some more, trust and believe. He's entitled to take an "L" every once and a while. Just wait'n on the day he surpasses the man ya'll keep comparing his win count too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757788746378060243.post-21478845252289203952009-08-18T12:29:55.158-04:002009-08-18T12:29:55.158-04:00It amazes me how the sports media (Fowler) can be ...It amazes me how the sports media (Fowler) can be so critical when they probably never played any sports to begin with. Tiger did not choke. He played and putted terrible and still almost won. Give Yang credit for being aggressive coming home with some of his shots and being successful. That makes him 14-1 in major tournaments. I do not think that is choking, he just had a bad day.

Congrats to Y.E. Yang because he played one heck of a tournament and made history himself and encouraging numerous Asians and people in the world with his win. Tiger Woods is under 35, will probably break "The Golden Bear's" major record within the next 2-3 years, and there is still no golfer in the PGA that can consistently beat Tiger on any given Sunday, especially if it is a major tourney. Did he choke yesterday? I would say he was just being human, but we all know that Tiger comes back stronger when he loses. He may just come back next year and win all 4 majors just to prove a point, but oh, if he only wins 1 or 2 then maybe he is still "choking". Scott, this was one tournament and not Tiger's entire career. Let's see what he does next season.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757788746378060243.post-27188854404820626852009-08-17T18:41:34.218-04:002009-08-17T18:41:34.218-04:00Comparing track and field to golf isn't a vali...Comparing track and field to golf isn't a valid comparison. Lets show Tiger a little respect. There has never been a more focused athlete in any sport. Tiger is not going to let this loss effect the rest of his career, if anything it will just fuel his fire. Did any of us really think he was going to go his entire career without ever giving up a lead in the final round of a major? He lost, period. You can choke due to the pressure or you can choke because you didn't play well enough to keep a lead. On the final day, someone who gives up 5 strokes and loses because of it should be a choke. One player's (or team's) come-from-behind win is usually considered another player's choke, in my opinion at least.

To answer someone else's (possibly sarcastic) post, in the 100 meters, Bolt averaged 23.35 mph, but probably hit near 30 in the 2nd half.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757788746378060243.post-10009407722364208842009-08-17T17:26:29.759-04:002009-08-17T17:26:29.759-04:00was he born in the year of the Rooster?

Tiger started to play conservatively and mishit shots like chips, bunker shots and wedge approaches in the 3rd round and the final one. If you look at both weekend rounds where he started with a 4 shot lead, then, yeah, it feels like a choke. It's not a 9 or 10 like a Phil, Paddy, or Van De Velde. I wouldn't even call it worse than Kenny Perry (2 shot lead, 2 holes to play) or Tom Watson (in fairway on 72nd hole with 1 shot lead).

On whether Tiger should have putted out on 18, I totally disagree. At that point, Tiger had a putt for par, down 1. Yang had a putt for birdie. If Yang 3 putts and Tiger makes, it's a playoff. I realize it was a 12 footer for Yang, but he had just 3 putted the last hole. In that situation, you play by the book. He did a great job to make the putt and end it right there.B-Manhttp://carolinagolfreviews.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1757788746378060243.post-26788759388634679682009-08-17T16:00:59.261-04:002009-08-17T16:00:59.261-04:00I don't think I would call Tiger's perform...I don't think I would call Tiger's performance choking. We who play golf knows how he feels. Anything that Tiger did on Sunday went wrong and he showed that even the best player in the world can make mistakes. To say that Tiger choked is a strong word. You have to remember, he has only lost one time when having the 54 hole lead prior to Sunday, and that was in 1997. But I guess you have people who say that a 36-1 record prior to Sunday and 70 PGA Tour wins is not good enough and he choked. Tiger has never choked and he will never choke.
